Inside the Bay:

In architectural terms, a bay is the space between two elements. It's a recess, a nook, a little compartment within. This blog is our bay. It's our little space nestled between the spontaneity of our human nature and the necessity of order in exceptional design.

We invite you to step back into the Bay at DM+A often, to keep tabs on us and learn how and why we do what we do, all the while working hard, having fun, and being nice.

Birthdays are a big deal to me; they always have been. I think everyone’s birthday should be as special as mine. Here at DMA, we go out to the Birthday Boy’s or Girl’s favorite place for lunch to celebrate. If you are lucky enough to work here, you get your birthday off too. This year was kinda special for me because I turned 29 again (read 50 here) and was looking down the barrel of a new decade. So where would we go to honor this blessed event? Another Monkey! Not just any Monkey but seriously, Another Monkey. This place is just one of many “Slanted Door” restaurants to hit San Francisco in recent years. Besides the great tasting food, you’ll find the house cocktail menu even more interesting. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday! Thanks everyone for making it so special.
