Inside the Bay:

In architectural terms, a bay is the space between two elements. It's a recess, a nook, a little compartment within. This blog is our bay. It's our little space nestled between the spontaneity of our human nature and the necessity of order in exceptional design.

We invite you to step back into the Bay at DM+A often, to keep tabs on us and learn how and why we do what we do, all the while working hard, having fun, and being nice.

Drinks by Design (DbD) is a monthly networking event that brings together the Bay Area architecture and design community. Tyler and I try to attend the event each month. DbD was formed by our friend, interior designer Jeff Morter, in 2007 and has grown from 20 people to an invitation list of over 1,000 people and 150-200 attendees each month. Drinks by Design was recently featured in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal, 7x7 and California Home + Design. DbD is sponsored by design-related companies and rotates to a new San Francisco bar or restaurant each month. It is not only fun to meet fellow Bay Area designers and creative people, but it is fun to check out the hosting venue.
