Soupe du jour

One of my very first jobs I was a prep cook at asoup café. It was family owned and the favorite son was the head soup maker. I would try to see  what ingredients went in the soups, but recipes stayed in the family. He was a towering hulk of a guy who would always keep himself between me and the kettle, blocking my view as he added ingredients into the pot and cooked away.

So here is my soup: Southwestern Bean Soup. This is a nice simple soup that can be topped with sour cream, cheese, or cilantro.

Southwestern Bean Soup ingredients: onions, green and red bell peppers, Anaheim chile, potatoes, carrots, red cabbage, black beans, lemon juice, Tobasco and worchestershire sauce.
