With a major water drought in California, here at DM+A, when working on a bathroom project the toilet we specify must not only be beautiful, it must also be efficient. With the average person flushing five times a day, toilets make up about 31% of overall household water consumption, so we wanted to share our latest toilet find.
Australia is in a perennial drought, so we looked to an Australian engineered toilet, the Caroma Sydney Smart toilet. This beauty is a high efficiency toilet (HET) with a dual flush 1.28/0.8 gallons per flush. With less water usage, the trap outlet is about 3x larger than a typical standard toilet, so clogs are a thing of the past. This toilet is Water Sense labeled, meeting rigorous criteria for both performance and efficiency.
Even if you're not remodeling a bathroom, but want to reduce your water usage, consider changing out your old toilet.
